THE Rivers State University has said its partnership with security agencies and host community has strengthened its fight against cultism within the university campus. The Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. Nlerum Okogbule, on Monday, said the constant patrol of security agencies within and outside the campus and a partnership he brokered with the institution’s host community in identifying criminals had been yielding results.
Okogbule added that following the current serenity within the campus, students now preferred hostel accommodations.
He said, “As far as this university is concerned now, students are more comfortable having accommodation within the campus than outside because of the security and safety we have here.
“For those of our students that are living off-campus, we have made an arrangement with our host community, working with them to ensure that criminals are identified and tackled before they cause havoc.”
