Due to great players Eli Fuchs, Itzhak Schneor, and Shiye Glazer, as well as good tactics, Moshe “Jerry” Beit haLevi won two league championships in 1951 and 1952, as well as a double in 1954.

During his time with Maccabi, Beit haLevi was the manager of the Israel national football team for two seasons.

Jerry was hired as a coach for the Nigerian national football team in 1960.

The press urged that Beit haLevi be fired after Nigeria was thrashed 3-0 by Ghana in front of 100,000 fans in Lagos in Beit haLevi’s first match.
