
A higher education facility called Imo State Polytechnic is located in Umuagwo, Imo State, Nigeria. As the Michael Okpara College of Agriculture, Umuagwo, it was founded in 1978. In 2007, it was given polytechnic status and changed its name to the Imo State Polytechnic, Umuagwo.
The Imo State Polytechnic Umuagwo’s Acting Rector is currently Sir Mbadike John Okechukwu. On February 7, 2020, Senator Hope Uzodinma, the executive governor of Imo State, appointed him acting rector of the polytechnic.Sir Mbadike John Okechukwu is a native of Umuma-Isiaku Ideato South Local Government Area of Imo State.

The institution is authorized to confer both the National Diploma and Higher National Diploma.In an environment where young people can develop personally, academically, and professionally through sacrifice and self-determination, the Polytechnic aspires to help students develop their personalities to greater levels of human experience.
The Polytechnic is renowned for its engaging, resourceful, technology-oriented, and collaborative environment—in the classroom, on and off campus, and throughout the federation—with over 10,000 bright undergraduate students and over 2000 dynamic, youthful, and creative workers.The Jamb cut off mark as at 2022/2023 Academic Session is 120.
